Secrets of a Soccer Mom takes a look at a part of life that is rarely explored on stage.  It speaks to everyone, no matter one’s age or gender, in attempting to answer the age old question: how in the world did I wind up HERE? Three moms born in three different decades come together at their 8 year old sons soccer game.  As they watch and sometimes participate in the game, their inner lives are revealed with humor and love.

Although we never see the sons and husbands these three witty women talk to and about, we are enveloped in their world as they work to balance their own desires with those they care about so deeply.

Of last year’s New York premiere, the New Yorker said the play “aims not to reinforce stereotypes but to explore what lies beneath them” and the New York Times says “there are some dandy laughs”!

“There’s a whole other game going on
when moms get together on the sidelines.”
An ordinary day at a neighborhood soccer match becomes extraordinary as the competition ignites a group of moms in their fierce desire to recapture their spirit, humor and passion.

The StillSpeaking Theatre is proud to announce the cast for its upcoming Los Angeles premiere production of
"Secrets of a Soccer Mom" by Kathleen Clark.
Jennifer L. Davis
Jennifer Lynn Davis (Nancy) is thrilled to be a part of this wonderfully funny ensemble cast and crew.  Jennifer comes to StillSpeaking Theatre fresh off the highly successful run of Tennessee Williams’ wonderful family drama “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” playing Mae at The Neighborhood Playhouse.  Her other recent credits include two understudy roles at The Geffen Playhouse, one as the Dinah understudy in Jane Anderson’s new play The Quality of Life, and as the Sue Bayliss understudy in their production of All My Sons (where she actually got to perform the role five times.) Other most recent theatre opportunities came from The Blank Theatre, where Jennifer starred in several “Living Room Series” productions and at the Westchester Playhouse as Florrie in “The Supporting Cast.”  Her TV and Film credits include, “Guilty or Innocent” for the Discovery Channel and “Crash Landing” an ABC Movie-of-the Week, as well as an impressive array of Associate Producer credits for television production.  Jennifer is a proud member of Actor’s Equity.
Tammy Taylor
Tammy Taylor (Lynn) is excited to be returning to the stage after a more than 20-year hiatus during which she raised her two amazing children, Jenna and Ian. Some may remember Tammy from her years on the soaps "The Young and The Restless" and "Days of Our Lives" back in the 80's. She also enjoyed considerable success playing numerous “girls-next-door” on sit-coms like "Happy Days", "Gimme a Break", and "Eight is Enough", the cult-classic feature film, "Meatballs Part 2", and dozens of commercials. Tammy is proud of her many years of service as PTA Co-President, Hot Lunch Mom, Head Room Parent and countless committee chair positions at her kids' schools and, although her kids never played soccer, feels like she was destined to play "Lynn". On the stage, Tammy has played roles ranging from Helen Keller in "The Miracle Worker" as a teen, to the singing and dancing Carrie Pipperidge in "Carousel". Most recently she was featured in a national Hallmark commercial with Barry Manilow. Tammy thanks her husband, Glen Wexler, for all his support and dedicates her performance in "Soccer Moms" to her mother, the late, great Joan Taylor.
Michelle Coyle
Michelle Coyle (Alison) graduated from George Washington University and began her career in the Washington, DC theatre scene.  After working on numerous government industrials, independent movies, and plays, she ended her time in DC with a national tour of "Play It Again, Sam."  Once in Los Angeles, she continued working on the stage with the role of the femme fatale in "The Maltese Falcon" at the Long Beach Shakespeare Company.  Her film and television credits include a series regular role on BET's "It's Tight Upstairs" and the lead in "Nova Superior" with Sideshow Productions.  Recently, you could see her play the murderer's wife on an episode of "America's Most Wanted" and she just wrapped production on an exciting short film about time travel.  Currently, she is attending classes at Playhouse West and is very excited to be returning to the stage at StillSpeaking Theatre.
Allyssa Maurice (Understudy)
Allyssa Maurice began acting in small town theaters in Maine at the age of 5 and never stopped. She is known throughout New England for her work in film, theater, print and commercials. "Fresh off the bus", as they say, she is thrilled to be making her LA theater debut at Stillspeaking Theatre. Film credits include THE WOMEN, opposite Eva Mendes, GHOSTS OF GIRLFRIENDS PAST as one of Matthew McConaughey's ex-girlfriends, and this fall's sci-fi thriller THE BOX, starring Cameron Diaz and James Marsden. Allyssa is a proud mom & wife. She thanks her family for their endless love & support.
